The BioEconomy Cluster’s region of competency
The BioEconomy Cluster connects relevant sectors and their value chains in a new way in Central Germany.
The regional core area of the BioEconomy Cluster comprises the states of Saxony-Anhalt (Südharz timber region, chemical triangle) and Saxony (Leipzig, Dresden) and is concentrated around its cluster centre at the Leuna chemical site.
The BioEconomy Cluster enables the relevant sectors to represent a new, unique profile on the international market. Its management structure combines successful cluster structures from business and science to create a nationally and internationally visible beacon for bioeconomics.
